Accessibility Statement

Built to be usable by everyone — and honest about where we're not sure yet.

Spatial Sustainability Hub wants this website to work for people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, high contrast, or reduced motion. Our target is WCAG 2.2 level AA. This page says what we've done, what we haven't checked, and how to tell us about a barrier.

1 · What we've done

Measures in place.

  • StructureSemantic HTML with landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), one h1 per page and a logical heading order, and breadcrumbs on inner pages.
  • KeyboardEvery link, button, form field and the mobile menu can be reached and operated with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
  • ContrastText colours are checked against WCAG AA (4.5:1 for normal text) — including small captions and placeholders, which are the ones that usually fail.
  • FormsEvery field has a visible label tied to it; required fields are marked; errors are announced (role="alert") and shown next to the field they concern; the honeypot field is hidden from assistive technology.
  • Text & motionText reflows to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling; sizes are relative; there is no autoplaying media and no animation that can't be ignored. Fonts load with font-display: swap so text is never invisible while a font downloads.
  • ImagesDecorative images (the logo mark) are hidden from screen readers; the review star ratings carry a text equivalent ("Rated 5 out of 5").
  • No trapsNo cookie wall, no modal that blocks the page, no time limits on forms.
2 · What we haven't verified

Known gaps, stated plainly.

  • No independent audit yetThe measures above come from our own testing, not a third-party WCAG audit. We don't claim full conformance until one has been done.
  • Screen-reader testingChecked with browser accessibility tooling and keyboard-only use; not yet tested end-to-end with every major screen reader on every platform.
  • The adminThe staff-only editing interface is Django's standard admin, which we haven't audited. It is not part of the public site.
  • The productsThis statement covers this website only. Commodity, MyDataCompliance and Verdex each publish their own.
